This pilates workout had my muscles shaking and burning in the first few reps.I loved every segment- It was very intense, easy to follow, and flowed very well. There are no fluffly moves in this workout- you can feel every exercise working.  Suzanne is upbeat and keeps the workout moving&#8230;there is no room for boredom- this workout is so unique and creative.  Every segment is so effective so you don&#8217;t have to do the entire 5 segments. I was pleased to finish the workout with a great stretching segment, and trust me you need it after working so hard!!! This workout is definitely for all levels because she offers modifications. This is such a well-rounded workout. You will feel every muscle in your body worked!! My muscles felt stronger, more toned, and lengthened after doing this DVD. Pilates Perfect Body is a must have!!!</p>
<p><strong style="color:#ffd000; background-color:#fafafa">5 Stars</strong> <em> Really really good :-0</em><br />
To be honest, I must say that Pilates isn&#8217;t my favourite type of workout and I normally avoid it, but I thought that buying a dvd like this where the pilates is 10 minutes long per segment, would be a great way for me to get to like it more and get better at doing it.  I was right.  This is a fantastic workout that anyone could do &#8211; even if you&#8217;re like me who doesn&#8217;t always enjoy it.</p>
<p>Suzanne is a great instructor &#8211; not intimidating in any way and instructs really well.  She leads you through classic pilates mixed with dance and even strength-training to mix it up and make your results amazing.  There is standing and floor work and a really good stretch at the end (or beginning if you play it that way).  Overall, this is a routine done at a faster pace than normal with a little more intensity but it&#8217;s fine if you are beyond a beginner exerciser.  I think you need to already be familiar with Pilates to avoid getting frustrated that you don&#8217;t know how to do the moves.  My two favourite segments are the arms workout and the stretch.</p>
<p>I really enjoy this and as always, love knowing that I can do as little or as much as I&#8217;d like, or can fit in, and I know this is very effective.  I really recommend it to intermediates and advanced exercisers.</p>
<p><strong style="color:#ffd000; background-color:#fafafa">5 Stars</strong> <em> Another Perfect Pilates workout </em><br />
Once again, the 10 Minute Solution series adds another fantastic workout to its library (and hopefully yours, too!).  I was really excited to try this workout and it did not disappoint.  I was curious to see how it would differ from the other pilates workouts in the series.  I really liked each section.  They do not repeat the same exact moves as others, though they do have different variations of some of the moves, like the classic &#8220;One Hundred&#8221; ab move.  I love the new moves that I have never tried before.  They are effective and fun.  I could really feel my muscles the next day, even though I work out almost everyday.  I am so glad to have been able to add this to my workout routine.  It is a must for any pilates or exercise fan!</p>

<p>Certified Pilates and fitness instructor Ellen Barrett presents a workout combining yoga moves with Pilates exercises to help tone, strengthen, and buSo here&#8217;s a portrait of yoga in the 21st Century: this ancient discipline, created thousands of years ago to enhance the meditative experience (the <em>asanas</em> or poses commonly used in hatha yoga were in fact designed to enable meditators to sit quietly, calmly and comfortably for hours on end), is now &#8220;a total body blast,&#8221; with users urged to &#8220;get hard core&#8221; and &#8220;feel the groove,&#8221; all so &#8220;your torso will look buff.&#8221;</p>
<p>At least that&#8217;s how Ellen Barrett, the relentlessly sunny instructor featured in Crunch Yoga&#8217;s <em>Super SlimDown: Pilates Yoga Blend</em>, sees it. But while that approach may sound pretty frightening to traditionalists, this can&#8217;t in fairness be viewed as a typical yoga video; nor does Barrett, who commingles power yoga moves and what she describes as &#8220;core-conditioning power pilates,&#8221; make any claims that it is.</p>
<p>Many of the poses&#8211;including Warrior II, extended right angle, cobra, locust, and others&#8211;will certainly be familiar to yogis. But instead of holding these poses for several breaths, as is common, Barrett takes a more aerobic approach, &#8220;pulsing&#8221; in and out of positions as if this were a calisthenics class; while that doesn&#8217;t do much to promote stretching, it does generate a lot of heat and calorie burning. Same goes for the pilates portions, which involve a lot of leg lifts, abdominal work, and other mat-based exercises.</p>
<p>One might wish that the instruction were more detailed when it comes to proper breathing, alignment, and so on; it&#8217;s also a bit paradoxical that while the &#8220;Crunch philosophy&#8221; states that their fitness programs are designed for &#8220;people from all walks of life regardless of shape, size, or ability,&#8221; the only folks we see onscreen are uniformly attractive, bare-midriffed young women in amazing shape. But hey, whatever. Call it what you will, this is a fast-moving, reasonably challenging program that will likely find favor with many. <em>&#8211;Sam Graham</em></p>

I enjoyed this DVD.  All of the routines were easy to learn and I felt the results immediately.  It initially went a little fast for me since I don&#8217;t know how to do pilates, but once I learned the routines, it was easy to do.</p>

Before buying the DVD, I rented it and purchased three variable strength 5 ft bands through eBay.  I was frustrated when I tried them out because they were all too short, even though I read that 5 ft. was perfect for my height 5&#8217;7&#8243;.  Anyways, the band included with this DVD is the perfect length.  I can&#8217;t wait to use it.</p>

It is new too so you don&#8217;t feel like your doing an 80s jazzercise. Susan is sweet too. Here is another great 10 minute solution DVD from one of the best pilates instructors.  This DVD builds a little from Lara Hudson&#8217;s 10 Minutes Solution Pilates DVD.  She cues very well and takes her time, which enables the user to be more relaxed and graceful.  What I like about her Pilates on the Ball is that she&#8217;s creative with her exercise routines.  I would probably not see some of her moves in other DVD&#8217;s.  She makes it look so easy while holding the ball still while I keep falling off.  She often tells you that the ball &#8220;will get away from you&#8221;, so you won&#8217;t feel so bad.  She&#8217;s very encouraging and very detailed in her explanations.  If she comes out with another DVD on pilates, I would get it.</p>

The good bit: I found that the DVD was well structured with 10 min sequences that provide a good workout at an intermediate to advanced level.</p>
<p>The not so good bit: I personally found the music and atmosphere of the DVD rather hectic, that is to say not relaxing, and rather lacking the elegance and harmony of what Pilates, in my opinion, is all about.</p>
<p>I would not recommend this video for beginners as it is rather lacking in cues for breathing, and seems to assume a prior knowledge of the techniques of employing one&#8217;s core strength.</p>

I haven&#8217;t done a pilates DVD for a while but this is definitely a breath of fresh air and even challenging but not so much that I had to stop or couldn&#8217;t do something. There is plenty of familliar pilates exercises like criss cross , roll up etc. and the ball add extra resistance to those exercises. There is even a lunge move with one leg on the ball behind which was pretty challenging. Lara does a great job explaining everything and doesn&#8217;t waste time and moves straight from exercise to exercise in those 10 minute segments. My favorite segements were the lower body one , with those lunges and a series of bridge work on the ball that fried my hamstrings and the stretch which was great.</p>

<p>Certified Pilates instructor Ana Caban is a splendid teacher. First she demonstrates alignment and technique for 10 minutes, explaining the cue words you will hear and how to do the basics, emphasizing how to use the core muscles to strengthen the abdominals and back throughout the workout. Then she introduces a challenging 20-minute series of Pilates moves, instructing clearly, demonstrating beautifully, and continuing to advise you about technique, breathing, and form.</p>
<p>Even though this is a beginning Pilates workout, Pilates is never easy, so these moves will feel extremely difficult if you&#8217;re new to this kind of exercise. For example, you learn to hold your abs tight whatever move you&#8217;re doing, and you move only the muscles you&#8217;re working at the moment, using your stabilizing muscles to hold the rest of the body still (much harder than it sounds!).</p>
<p>Another participant demonstrates modifications throughout in case Caban&#8217;s moves are too difficult or your muscles fatigue.
